Superior River View Room

Azerai Le Residence, Hue, Vietnam

During our stay at Azerai Le Residence Hue, we opted for the Superior River View Room and we were certainly not disappointed with our few nights there. The room was spacious, and was plenty of room for us to chill out and relax in. It has plenty of luggage storage, complete with large bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a private balcony with plenty of natural light. It also overlooks the gardens, pool, Perfume river and the Imperial City.

The Swimming Pool

Azerai Le Residence, Hue, Vietnam

There is a large pool located at the hotel which is delightfully refreshing after a long hot day of exploring Hue, or just escaping the Vietnamese heat for a little while. With plenty sun loungers located around the edge, all you have to do is pick the one you like the most, grab some cold drinks from the pool bar and relax while being waited on. What more can you ask for really?

The Spa & Wellness Centre

Azerai Le Residence, Hue, Vietnam

This luxurious and relaxing spa is brand new to the residence and fully equipped with every massage and spa treatment you can think of. We opted for the 60 minute aromatherapy massage treatment which left us feeling incredible afterwards and wanting more. The staff are superb, you are given various teas, private showers and a few biscuits after as well. If you fancy a unique pamper day I would highly recommend visiting this spa.

The Gymnasium

Azerai Le Residence, Hue, Vietnam

The all new fitness centre is equipped with TechnoGym treadmills, exercise bikes, an elliptical trainer and strength equipment, as well as a rubber-floored area for free weights that includes racks and benches. It is super clean, extremely modern and comes with air-conditioning, free healthy snacks and water should you need it. Honestly, the best to place to work out!

The Lobby Lounge

Azerai Le Residence, Hue, Vietnam

Much more than a mere way station at check-in, the lobby occupies most of the rotunda’s ground floor. A great arc of windows curves with the rotunda’s walls, opening up views of the garden, the pool and the monumental Flagtower Bastion on the river’s north bank. French doorways segue from the indoor lounge to a sheltered terrace that’s a particularly compelling venue at cocktail hour.

Le Parfum Restaurant

Azerai Le Residence, Hue, Vietnam

The hotel’s main restaurant, and a destination all its own, Le Parfum serves a breakfast buffet from 6am to 10am, and lunch and dinner from 11:30am to 11pm. The cuisine presents authentic Vietnamese dishes, from bun bo Hue and pho to bun thit nuong, and a compelling selection of Western dishes from salmon fillet and duck breast to black Angus beef tenderloin. The restaurant seats 178, and includes dining on a terrace that takes in views of the river and the walls of the Citadel on the north bank.

Visit the Imperial Citadel

Imperial City, Hue, Vietnam

The Imperial Citadel in Hue would have been the previous centre of the government and is made up of a vast complex. When you walk around you can admire the moats, carved gates and royal pavilions, and there are also a clutch of engaging museums on the grounds.

If you like Vietnamese costumes, textiles and art then make sure not to skip the main galleries here.

Cycle around the city

Cycling around Hue, Hue, Vietnam

Hue is often said to be one of the nicest cities in Vietnam to cycle around. You will find far less traffic here than in other parts of the country and you can also cycle along the lush banks of the Huong River and visit all the key attractions for which Hue is famous.

You can either just rent a bike and go it alone, or you can also join a dedicated cycling tour with a guide that will take you around Hue or out into the surrounding countryside.

Explore the abandoned water park

Abandoned water park, Hue, Vietnam

This will require some navigation and the rental of a scooter to get there as its much easier than trying to get tuktuks or taxis there I found. But, hidden away is a long lost water park which is half built and left without love for many years now. Due to this fact it has actually become a tourist attraction now and while it used to be a secret a few years ago, it is now a popular Instagrammable place.

Be sure to check it out early morning as it is still worth checking it out and it still gives me the creeps. We went for sunrise and we left at 8.30am and we still saw no one there.

How to get there
